I was browsing the most recent 247 '19 commits and noticed that the 62nd ranked player of '19, Spaniard power forward Santiago Aldama, signed with Loyola Maryland of the Patriot League. Looking into it more, Loyola also signed another Spaniard, power forward Golden Dike, the 154th ranked player of '19.
In addition to these two incoming freshmen, Loyola returns four 10+ ppg scorers from last season, including senior Andrew Kostecka who scored 21.3 ppg last year.
Back to the point of this thread, with adding Aldama and Dike, Loyola is ranked the 61st best recruiting class of 2019. 247's algorithm tends to rank schools higher when the volume of prospects are higher, so on that note, Indiana is the only other team ranked higher than Loyola that also secured just two prospects, while other two prospect schools classes (Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, UCLA) are ranked lower than Loyola's class.
Has anyone seen this before? A under-the-radar mid-major team nab two highly acclaimed prospects in the same class?
