Not ready to even call the AAC a "solid" conference but... at 5-6, for SMU to play a supposed top 10 team and lose by 2 - that either says something about SMU and the AAC, or something about Miss State not being that good... (or both)...

I have seen some very good games in this SEC/AAC challenge. I think the middle of the AAC is pretty close to the bottom of the SEC. I'm not sure how I feel about Miss St. I don't recall them beating anyone good last year or this year...

Tulane has been looking good at times this year also. Lost at Fla State by 6 (72-78), lost to Virginia by 5 in the Virgin Islands. Defeated Ole Miss 61-59 at Mississippi, and defeated LSU 67-63.

At the start of the year , I thought UCONN and USF were locks for the NCAA's and thought Temple and Tulane could make some noise - if not the NCAA's, for sure the NIT. I still think one of them might make the NCAA's. we will see. Not a great conference, nor even necessarily a good one... yet... but not as horrible as they were 2 years ago for sure. Was hoping to see some good improvement from ECU and Memphis too. I think those programs have potential...

Look out for ECU.. they played SC recently and while the game was hardly ever close, they are a good team.
