When UConn player drives past their defender and gets in the mid-range zone, they often have uncontested shot- but, if interior defender leaves their player to now defend this shot, the ball can be passed to forward/center who is inside for that lay-up. Or, they can kick it back outside for a 3-point attempt. One big difference that I saw with UConn and the other teams is that UConn took and made a lot of these medium distance shots. [/QUOTE]
