Will be interesting to see how they defend vs. Thomas. Bria Smith is a tough defender but I don't know if she has enough length. Walz may have to go to junk defenses.

i think MD wins this one. L'ville lost Monique Reid and Tia Gibbs early in the season. I think he also lost Cierra Warren after 20 or so games. if they were at full strength, i'd like L'ville's chances. but i just don't think they have the guns to keep up with MD.

If U of L was able to hang with UConn, home court or not, they can beat Maryland. That superior post presence that is suppose to get them past ND and into the F4 was nowhere to be found against Navy. Given match-ups and locations I wouldn't be shocked to see all 3 ACC 2 seeds out in the 2nd round.

Louisville plays D and is physical. As Geno said, teams in the ACC don't guard.

It is either Louisville in a tight one or Maryland big ... if Maryland goes out quick and their shooters relax it could get ugly. This may be my post of the PM. With 4 minutes to play in our game a power outtage - a 2 second job - killed only one thing in the house - my yes its buffered etc desktop. Tried to subscribe to tappytalk (yeah I'm slow) and it froze on accept. Now I am on wife's business laptop, but she has so many bus apps running in background it's brutally slow!!!! Slightly better than soup can communications!

If i read / see that one more time...... imma go eat a donut or something

Walz will probably double Thomas and try to make the others beat us by hitting 3s or mid jumpers. Terps are not very good from long range. It was the first time I have watched Maryland all year and was not too impressed with them considering the insane amount of talent they have on their roster. They have two huge posts and only use them for screens and passing out on the perimeter and that is it. Navy's tallest player may have been 6'0 and they refused to throw it in the post.

Maryland isn't a good defensive team or all that great in half court sets. They thrive in transition and put backs. Cards have a good shot if we don't let them on the glass for easy put backs and slow their transition game.
