With the news that Louisville recruits were allegedly receiving favors from prostitutes where does that leave them in terms of their place in the ACC? Are they hit with significant NCAA sanctions?

Could this open the door for UCONN to get into the ACC especially with the agreement in place to play football against BC?

they are in the same conference with heavyweights like Free Shoes University, "the U", and UNC. This is like amatuer hour compared to those schools.

Actually, poor analogy. If it were "amatuer" hour, the Ville would have used coeds and not prostitutes.

The escapades at Louisville are exactly what a low-rent off-broadway production of "The U,"the Musical" would look like.

It will not help UConn's chances of getting into the ACC other than making the reasons for UConn's NCAA sanction (APR) look laughable in the face of academic fraud (UNC) and state funded prostitution (Louisville).

That said, Louisville only offers basketball and to a lesser degree, football. The school does not offer a large TV market outside of half of the state of Kentucky and a slice of southern Indiana (admitted, a very rapid fan base) and nothing on the academic side of the coin. If their sports revenue stream takes a significant hit, the ACC will be worried.

This is the same school that rehired that sleezebag Petrino. The question is if they will eventually have to vacate their bball title.

Yesterday Chris Childers and Rick Neuheisel (who knows about NCAA issues as a head coach..he got in trouble with the NCAA while at Washington) were talking about this on their show right after they had Aresco on. Neuheisel said what Louisville has been accused with is about as bad as it can get and that even if Pitino didn't know about it, it falls under Lack of Institutional Control. He also said the corroboration by former players and recruits to exactly what was alleged in the book is going to make it a rough go for Louisvile. Zurich's house of cards (no pun intended) may be starting to fall down.

Pitino is a legendary control freak. There is only one way this got by him---he was too busy with his own sexcapade scandal spin control

BOZICH | This is one mess Pitino can't fix

Louisville needs a Mr. Fix-It -- and it needs somebody other than Rick Pitino to clean up this embarrassing mess. A new direction. A new face.

A new coach whose voice does not stir the thoughts of a sex scandal whenever you hear it.

No way Pitino survives this tawdry scandal of strippers, prostitutes, recruits, U of L players and sex that has swallowed its program for the last 18 days.

No way that Pitino should survive this, an inevitability that I believe even U of L president Dr. James Ramsey realized more than a week ago when his first statement featured support for athletic director Tom Jurich but not Pitino.

Getting past this mess will require serious work by U of L administrators. The investigation will be costly and lengthy, generating tons of terrible publicity for the school. The daylong pummeling on ESPN today won't be swept away by a few informercials or favorable columns. The more information that bubbles up, the more likely NCAA penalties become.

Recruiting has to be a mess. How can you continue to sell a basketball program with a future as uncertain as the next three or four years have become at Louisville?

The ACC, in its infinite wisdom, invited a glorified inner city high school into its ranks. I contend this kind of scandal was only a matter of time, given the low standards that pervade Louisville as a school in general.

Whatever tortured justification the ACC expresses publicly, the realignment choices they've made are proving to be astonishingly short sighted.

had this happened before they got into the ACC, maybe it changes things.
now, it sadly solidifies their place in the club.

Louisville Community College continues to raise the bar. What a hot mess of an entire conference. Syracuse can't start seasons 25-0 without rampant decade-long cheating, the Criminoles are the Criminoles, UNC photoshops the academic curriculum for their "student" athletes, and Da U still has more boatz n hoez per capita than any other school. Even part-time member Notre Dame had a part-time cheating scandal.

I don't think LCC's house is the only one constructed of cards, no pun intended. Seems like half the conference is involved in some form of cheating and, yet, they still can't win. Personally speaking, I would be one happy fella if everything Da L accomplished in 2010-2012 (around the time we were being compared to them for ACC membership) was vacated.

As that famous pimp onc said "the ACC's interest in Louisville is one of the dumbest things he has heard"

Or maybe wise, since they know they can't compete with the Big Ten.

Now Playing at Goodspeed: 'Louisville Sexcapades, the Musical', by the conference who brought you 'The U', 'The Screwing of the BigEast', 'Jamis Winston and the Free Crablegs' and the latest hit: "My Cheating Athletes"...coming soon: 'Husky ate an Eagle' coming 2016.

Do we really want to to be in a conference like the ACC? We might have to have football players steal crab legs, students getting the test results, basketball players getting whores and who knows what else...

B1G should be for us...IMHO...
