There is also a really good Italian restaurant -- Francesca's -- in my town (Coventry), which is only a few miles down Rt. 275 from campus. If you like wings, the Bidwell is a good place to go. I'm not as keen on their other dishes, but they're known for their wings. It's been there forever and the bar has a lot of atmosphere. (The dining room is newer.) Would also agree with Coyote Flaco on Rt. 32 in Mansfield. It's our favorite Mexican restaurant (not quite as Americanized as some are and we love their margaritas) and is easy to get to with plenty of parking. Willimantic Brewery is also good -- take Rt. 195 from UConn to Rt. 32 in Willimantic (turns into Main Street) -- no turns needed. It's the old post office converted into a brew pub. Nachos are awesome and they have a great selection of local beers. Across the street from Willi Brew is Cafe Mantic (one of my faves). They use really fresh ingredients and serve everything a la carte, so it's fun to order several dishes and share them, kind of like tapas.
