Lets just freeze the post out, as if it was written by a robot in seizure.

Read their board. Calling our girls Sasquatch, etc. Walz is the only class they have. Don't care if you delete.

I'm gonna agree with you. I remember back in 2009, a bunch of us went to their board and congratulated them on a great game and blah blah blah. I went over there last night and it was pissing and whining. I left without posting a thing.

No this was written by a person with feelings who loves the UConn women. I would never write anything derogatory about any teams players but their fans are a different story. If my post bothers you why read the thread? Did you expect me to write something nice? Remember Larry Taylor? I bet they are still whining about him all these years later.

Write what you want to write. I am not a mod, just a poster.

B TW, how many "fans"? A few on a message board?

No reason to. Some people may disagree, or think it's poor taste to say it, or think it over-generalizes, or any number of other objections, but it's not in any deletable category.

Just your opinion, and it's not, e.g., player-trashing. Worse has been said about certain other fan bases (or at least the internet-posting portion thereof) and deservedly so.

Worse has probably been said about us for that matter. And we, as we all know, don't even deserve it.

Why does it matter to you? It was said by a few and I stopped reading, if you are so concerned go read it yourself.

So Louisville fans=a few for your sample population?

IAC, it is a happy day.

I looked at the board (Walz's World) and didn't see anything terrible other than an occasional nasty and ignorant comment about Geno Auriemma's personality and character. I thought the Sasquatch comment was actually amusing. The person who posted it included a smiley after saying that "Sasquatch" was "killing the Cards."

Did you expect me to write something nice?
I was kind of hoping. Thought maybe someone down in N'Awlins had a nice encounter with some UL fans.

The fact is, there are all sorts of fans on message boards, but they still are only a small % of the fans for X team. Anybody can post anything, smart, astute, dumb, ignorant. But you can't extrapolate that to all fans of a team, not even UT or Syracuse. Why bother looking at another team's message board? You are looking either for whiners or congratulators. If they come to whine on our board, fine, tell them to keep it at home.

.-.
Anyone notice the UConn fans in the stands ripping the decks of playing cards to shreds. Ouch!

Unfortunate post, uconnell. If your were talking about the Cards football fans, I would join in with you and double up on anything you can dig up in the whiny pants list. But this is a Cards WCBB team and its fan base we're talking about, and except for some BYers who I think may have too hyper expectations about what Louisville should be accomplishing and a few who still have a Shoni Schimmell = Sami Prahalis mentality, most Husky fans don't have a huge amount of bones to pick with the Cards' small but very slowly growing fan base. All teams have their respectful and obnoxious fans (yes, even the Vols), but wishing the whole pack ill especially after your team beat them for an NC is just not right. Hell, I've even met some SF Giants fans that appear halfway decent if you squint at them from the right angle.

Reminds me of the late RobertNAtl's "ballhog chick" comment, 'That ballhog chick is killing us!'

"the Cards' small but very slowly growing fan base . . "

If the Cards attendance is a reflection of their fan base, its growing by leaps and bounds. Attendance has surpassed UConn for the last couple of years. Just a few years ago Louisville was drawing about 6K to their games. They have been the #2 team in home attendance for the last couple of years.

Absolutely right, and no one should in any way denigrate the Card fan base for live attendance at games, which is where it counts. I was thinking more of its forum fan base which is kind of swamped by the posters for the guys' team. But the forum fan base for all teams tends to be of the deranged type anyway.

I sat in a section with fans of both teams, about equally divided. There was lots of good-natured smack talk...I got up to go to the rest room at one point and while I was gone, the Cardinals, down 22 when I left, suddenly launched a couple of successful 3's. Naturally, upon my return, the ladies in red shirts laughingly screamed at me to leave again, even jokingly offered to buy me a couple of beers to speed the process! I talked to lots of fans of all four teams...all were having a good time, and even when badly behind, as L'ville was, there was ample good humor. There are idiots who support every team, as this thread amply demonstrates!
