Pretty impressive all the precautions they're taking to keep the athletes apart, disinfect their clothes in their lockers, most (?) athletes have individual rooms and bathrooms, etc, etc - except while they're playing. What's the point? Testing on Day 1 & Day 8. What happens when the first one tests positive on Day 7 and he has been in practice contact with the whole football team (85 scholarship athletes) for 6 days since the last test?

And if any student athletes do not want to risk getting exposed to the virus, then give up your scholarship until you feel that the risks are no longer present and reapply for your scholarship.

It's up to each individual to make the right decision concerning their health, not the athletic department or the school. Right?

The one aspect that bothers me is that some schools will have an unfair advantage over schools that remain closed for the summer. I'm hoping that for basketball at least, schools that have their summer practices wiped out will be granted an exception to start their seasons earlier than they otherwise would be allowed to level the practice time playing field.

1 Ohio State football player and 2 Marshall football players test positive. Not a good start

Add 4 Iowa State players (2 sports) and an Athletic Dept staffer...
I simply don't see this going well.

I know you are out here in AZ as well, or were. Have you seen the AZ numbers? Article in the paper suggested the numbers are concerning and AZ numbers are not going in the right direction.

Hopefully, we will see a leveling off. Hopefully.

AZ numbers are slowly creeping up, but I don’t think we out here in the desert really have a sense of what’s been going on in the hot spots like New York, CT, San Francisco, Seattle, etc. I mentioned in another post a week or 2 ago that my daughter lives in Essex County, NJ, population about 900,000. That county alone has had twice as many deaths as the whole state of AZ, population 7 million.
I agree. I'm on Facebook with a number of RU fans and still have family in NJ. I don't personally know anyone who has been sick, but some of them do, including folks who have died.
