This will be the 11th meeting all-time between the two teams. Louisville leads the series 7-3, and has won the last 5 meetings. The Cardinals have eliminated the Wolfpack Women from the ACC Tournament for the last three consecutive years (by scores of 59-58, 64-59 and 78-68).

NC State's only victory in Raleigh was the first meeting between the teams, back on December 27, 1985. (I was a sophomore at NC State at the time).

The last time Louisville visited the Wolfpack, NC State didn't hit its first shot until there were 4 minutes to go in the second quarter, and found themselves down 25-1, eventually scratching back to within 4 points before falling by 8 points.

NC State's last victory in the series was a 72-70 OT thriller in Louisville on February 2, 2017, the only win in the series for the Wolfpack Women since Louisville became an ACC member.

Which Louisville team makes the flight to Raleigh? Will the return of Elizabeth Balogun right the ship of the Cardinal? I am taking Jeff and the birds in this one...

Should be a good game. Reynolds Coliseum seems to always be hopping, especially for the big games. Looking forward to hearing that dude who always sits behind the broadcasters and hollers at the refs all game :D I really wish the ACC Network would do a feature on him.

You never know what Louisville team will show up. Maybe they're due for a bounce-back after two really lousy games.

Huge ACC game with sizable implications on the postseason, perhaps. NC State is in the recent discussions for that 4th #1 Seed, while Louisville was in those discussions, but fell out and are looking to get back in them. NC State also would like some personal redemption against a conference foe they haven't had success against....

According to Coach Moore.... he said that he heard that some seats were going for 300 bucks on the secondary market.

Deb Antonelli broadcasting when her "former #1" team is playing. Hmm.

End of 1st quarter...Louisville leads 19-8. NC State tying a season low for points in a quarter. They are just all out of sorts right now. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have found a groove.

Louisville shot 53.3% on 8 of 15 from the field; NC State 18.8% on 3 of 16.

Louisville leading on the boards, 13-6.

Jazmine Jones has 7 points for Louisville. Kayla Jones with 4 points for NC State.

4:35 left 2nd quarter...Louisville holding on to a 27-16 lead. NC State just ice cold. Thank goodness for the FT line!

NC State has yet to hit a THREE (0-9). Louisville 3 of 10 from long range.

NCSt's offense is having many of the same problems I see with UConn.

They telegraph what they are about to do. They want to get it to Cunane so everyone else stands still on the perimeter. And she never ball fakes to get her defender up in the air. Remind anyone of ONO?

No one screens away from the ball.

Passes are made to stationary targets.

Dana Evans with a THREE to end the first half scoring. Cardinals lead 33-23 at halftime.

Louisville shot 48.1% on 13 of 27 from the field, including 4 of 11 from THREE and was 3 of 5 from the FT line. NC State was 8 of 32 from the field for 25% shooting, was 1 of 12 from THREE and 6 of 7 from the FT line.

Dana Evans and Jazmine Jones with 10 points each for the Cardinals. The leading scorer for NC State was Kayla Jones with 6 points; Elissa Cunane and Jada Boyd have 5 points each.

Elissa Cunane was 0-5 from the field, scoring all her points from the charity stripe.

Cardinals winning the battle on the boards, 19-17. Jazmine Jones, Elizabeth Balogun and Kylie Shook have 5 boards each for Louisville. Cunane has 3 boards for NC State.

Balogun and Elizabeth Dixon have 2 fouls each for the Cardinals. No NC State player has more than 1.

I must say, that having seen NC State play several times this season, this is one of their poorer performances. Credit Louisville. Their plan to harass and make things difficult for Cunane inside has been perfect. Forcing NC State to rely on perimeter shooting, the shots just aren't falling. Yet, NC State has stayed within striking distance.

The Wolfpack Women tend to be a 3rd quarter team. I can't imagine they'll play that poorly two halves in a row.

Cunane is having great difficulty shooting over Shook. Shook has probably blocked at least three of her shots already.

Does Cunane have any post moves other than going right?

She does reverse to the left side sometimes. But, I think Cunane is playing too fast and it has cost her. Shook doing a great job on her and in this matchup, has been the better and more physical player.

Really good game, actually. Intense, with some good defense.

Much better to watch than Tennessee/LSU
