Yes it must have been enormously difficult for KLS to resist pushing her rehab and start shooting threes.
But as she has demonstrated so many times previously, she does what's best for her team (and ultimately herself). And almost always with a big smile and the proper explanations!
I hope she can stay fully healthy throughout this season, so she can demonstrate what a wonderful basketball player she truly is. If she can remain healthy, I think she will grow to the next levels needed both by her and her team. She will become a force to be reckoned with, and within the team concept as much as possible. I hope in those tough, critical moments in big games, the ball will be in her hands allowing her to create for herself or by making a great pass because she has been doubled or tripled.
If she can do these things she will become NPOY, three time first team AA, and most importantly be able to play in the national championship game. Obviously she alone can't and won't fully control this becoming a reality.
I also think she will demonstrate her being just outside the Holy Trinity of DT, MM & BS, in terms of U Conn careers. Yes when it comes to KLS I go over those lines I complain about others doing here regarding other players and the team. Maybe I lose a bit or more of my objectivity.
She's been an outstanding member of the U Conn team and community both on and off the court. It started by her taking the enormous step of not following in her two older sisters significant footsteps and comfortably attending Stanford and playing for the great coach Tara.
I won't continue to go on, but will end in wishing KLS only good health. She seems to be able to take care of the rest.
