With their combined 41 points against Louisville, Lou & Phee passed Kelsey Plum & Chantel Osahor as the highest scoring classmates in NCAA history.:D As far as I could find out, I think that Arike Ogunbowale & Marina Mabrey are third.
(All totals up to date)

Lou - 2322 + Phee 2386 = 4708

Plum 3527 + Osahor 1144 = 4671

Ogunbowale 2572 + Mabrey 1863 = 4435

Ogunbowale and Mabrey aren't even first at ND (yet). Beth Morgan (2322) and Katryna Gaither (2126) combined for 4458 from 1993-97. Now, it's likely that falls Friday.

Lou now has a chance to pass Tina Charles (only 25 back) making them 3 and 4 on the all time Uconn scoring list and unless disaster stikes Napheesa should pass 2400 against ND.
I’m looking for Lou to pass Tina on Friday and then pad her total on Sunday while she and her teammates bring home # 12.

Highest scoring duo in NCAA history, but there is no way they are going to win against ND or Baylor!

Does their scoring record deserve an Asterisk, due to their playing all four years in the AAC? ( ala Roger Maris.)
(Just for arguments sake.)

BTW, they already own a unique but highly dubious record: They have lost as many games in the Final Four (2) as they have in all four regular seasons (2). I feel fairly safe in claiming that no one else owns this record.

which means they rarely play the full 4 quarters. Imagine what their totals would be if they played full game
Kinda like imagining what their totals would be if they played in the ACC, or SEC, or PAC-12. ( or the old Big East.)

Perhaps one of our stat mavens knows what they average against AAC opponents, versus what they average against OOC opponents. Might be interesting.

You beat me to it Bonpland. I did the math last night, and was going to post it today.
Lou has 2322 points right now. Charles has 2346, a difference of 24 points. 25 needed to pass Charles up to 4th place, right behind her buddy and BFF Napheesa. :D

I love it!! :p Plum and Osahor's record didn't last long did it? :D

You would be mistaken. Saniya Chong & Tierney Lawlor lost only 1 regular season game in 4 seasons and only 1 NCAA tournament game in 2017. Even worse, Gabby & Kia also lost only 1 regular season game, and lost twice as many NCAA tournament games (2) in 2017 & 2018.

Yes it deserves and asterisk, for being pulled out of many games in the 3rd quarter : - ) Like when Lou had 40 points and was taken out with 2:30 mins left in Q3. Imagine in those games where they were on fire if they were left in.... Plus they both dropped plenty of 20+ on top 20 competition.

Add to that the fact that Lou and Pheesa played with some great players who could all score: Stewie, Tuck, Mo, Gabby, Kia, Z, Crystal, Megan, Christyn, etc. The Washington teams that Plum & Osafor played on were not nearly as well balanced.

1 regular season game in 4 years, and only losing 1 NCAA tournament game in 4 years of play...........smh. Think those records will ever be broken? I don't. If there was a "Hall of Records" for records that will never be broken", they could put those two in there, along with UConn's 4 NC in a row.

I must give Diana Taurasi credit for making the call on UConn's last NC. In 2015, she said "if anyone has plans on beating UConn, they'd better do now, because UConn is not going to lose any games next year." She was right!! UConn finished the following season 38-0, defeating Syracuse 82-51 for the NC. I remember a quote from Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman in his post game presser. He said: "UConn has forgotten how to lose" :p

If Geno had left her in, she no doubt would have eclipsed Nykesha Sales' team record for most points scored in a game of 46 (DEC. 22, 1997 v. Stanford) In 12 min 30 secs, Lou probable could have/would have scored another 10 points, and raised the record to an even 50 points.

18 years later, Nykesha Sales still carries the weight of her record-breaking shot

Saniya & Tierney also hold the all time career wins record for college basketball, men or women, at 153-2.

The great Maya Moore was 4-2 in the Final Four and 146-2 in other games.

I bet an Bueckers and Hailey Van Lith backcourt combo would give the scoring record a run for its money.
