Yesterday, no less than 6 ranked teams lost to unranked opponents: Depaul, KY, FSU, IO, AZ, TCU. Add in that NCSt had a battle to overcome unranked UVA and #1 SC had a tough fight at home against #12 TX A&M, and it was a difficult day for favorites in WBB.

With conference tournaments right around the corner, top teams have to be prepared to win 3 straight games during hectic, nothing to lose scenarios that are the breeding ground of upsets.

There will be more upsets in this next week of conference tournaments. Top seeds may well fall. Let’s hope that prospect doesn’t extend to the Mohegan Sun.

I hope these prophetic words from @oldude type written hands go right to the Basketball gods and we see more non-P5 schools make the NCAAT as I am not thrilled about 8 teams from the Big10, 7 teams from the SEC, 6 teams from the ACC or even 4 teams from the Big12 qualifying. The last few teams from each of those conferences simply are not really worthy. If the Committee is to be taken seriously and really do look at RPI, Q1 record and the last 10 games of the season, I will respect them more as what I see is truly dreadful for certain teams to be considered.
Big10-Purdue #46 Q1 4-11 (4-6), or Rutgers #42 Q1 4-5 (6-4)? really? Yuk
SEC-Tenn #57 Q1 1-9 (5-5)? Yeeessshhh.
ACC-Georgia Tech #71 3-5 (5-5)
Big12-Texas #44 Q1 4-4 (6-4) Iowa State #52 Q1 2-6 (5-5)?

The biggest outliers are Georgia Tech and Tenn but I am ABSOLUTELY convinced both will get in due to "favoritism factors" of Nell (the love for her is nice but still #71 is not worthy) and Tenn as a member of all the NCAAT. Their 1-9 record in Q1 and #57 RPI screams NO WAY.

Rant over...
