selection committee huh? well... there goes any possibility for a big east team to make the playoff.

In other news, the BCS has announced they've identified their selection committee. Congratulations to Mr.'s Delaney, Slive, Scott, and Bowlsby for agreeing to be objective and impartial selectors for the FB Final Four. If needed, all tie breakers for the 4th team will be decided by co-chairman monsieur's Slive and Delaney on alternating years.

It'll be tough but with a full on media assault consisting of ESPN, print media, and bloggers galore I gave faith they'd us and they'd have the public opinion on their side.

This is great news for the Big East. At least we now have a chance to make the playoff and win a championship. Any chance is better than no chance. I agree with those who say that this will eventually lead to an 8 team playoff which would be incredibly good for the Big East.
Its also GREAT NEWS that these games will be played at a neutral site because we all know the Big East would have never been the home team in these playoff games.
Understand this folks, in spite of all of the turmoil of the past 9 months:
*UCONN currently has a better chance to win the championship then we did 9 months ago
*UCONN in many ways is in a more interesting and exciting football conference then we were in 9 months ago.

more important than how these are decided, is that it gets the ball rolling to an 8 team model. once this is wildly successful it will have to happen. even if it means a BE team won't go for the first 3-4 years (although Boise would has finished in the top 4 recently so you never know) this is still a very good move and something to celebrate b/c it gets the ball rolling
