I'm not surprised. Make him miss one more game before declaring him suspended for "time served." What a joke.

Is this coming from a source or your own guess? I remember the last ruling being announced pretty late on a Friday.

It's 2 for 1 happy hour at the local pub in Indy. You dont expect them to miss that, do you?

I'd like to pummel these guys. I truly believe that they know exactly what they are doing, and that this is nothing more than a vendetta of some kind against Calhoun and the program. Maybe I am paranoid, but the lag time is just ridiculous. I still say that certain programs would not have to endure this.

Borges confirms he won't be playing Sunday in his latest post:

Concerning for me: ""Everybody’s working like crazy, trying to get some resolution right now ... There’s no indication of (whether he'll come back at all), the only indication is we’re trying like crazy to get him back."

Here's what Jim Calhoun had to say this afternoon:

"Everybody’s working like crazy, trying to get some resolution right now ... There’s no indication of (whether he'll come back at all), the only indication is we’re trying like crazy to get him back."

"whether he'll come back at all" I don't like the sound of that.

Seems like Borges embellished that a little... he has parenthesis around it so im pretty sure he didn't say that word for word.

Also, Amore has a similar quote that puts perspective on the situation:

Calhoun was asked if there’s an indication that Boatright will definitely be back at some point. “There’s no indication of anything. The only indication is that we’re trying like crazy to get him back,” Calhoun said.

So, not the end of the world. However, he doesn't sound optomistic, sadly.

The bottom line is UConn has enough talent to beat just about anybody in the country with or without Boatright. The longer the team continues to feel sorry for themselves, the longer the losing will continue. Boatright may not come back this season at all. It sucks, but Calhoun will make do with what he has. I'm happy to hear Deandre is playing well in practice. Hopefully this leads to a breakthough in the game on Sunday.

Agreed. They know exactly what they're doing. It's too bad that NY Times article really didn't pick up nationally. I wish ESPN was all over this story to put some pressure on the NCAA.

Glad DD is playing better and while I agree that in one game we can compete with our talent, I don't see that happening game after game as thin at PG that we are. I'm talking about needing RB for a deep run.

All ESPN will do is give some flippant, backhanded comment about Boatright and then report on something Boston College-related. That's how they roll.

'News' to ESPN is only news if it helps them monetarily or politically - and currently, painting anyone or anything associated with the Big East in a positive/sympathetic light does neither for the Bristol Gang right now. Did you catch their wall-to-wall coverage of Navy being added to the league? Or how about the way they shoved Greg-Schiano-leaving-Rutgers under the rug?

Oh, neither of those things happened. There you go...

I'm not talking about just one game...I still think this team can compete for a National Title without Boatright in the lineup...if Roscoe Smith, Alex Oriakhi, and Andre Drummond stop dropping the ball, turning it over, going up soft, getting bullied around, and throwing up some of the ugliest bricks you'll see. That's a big if, but UConn's success will depend on whether or not these guys pull their heads out of their asses...if not, we'll be in trouble with or without Boat.

^ I think you're not really appreciating the value of having somebody like boatright. Shabazz has played good not great, we aint winning snow with one PG. We'll be good but, you need that change of pace in the NCAA's. We wouldn't have won without Bazz last year. That simple.
