Weist - “I am pleased with Germey Davis and Shak (Phillips), those two have experience and made plays last year,” Weist said. “They have to lead this group and they are both talented and work hard. They got leadership and the other receivers look at them and see how hard they work everyday. Deshonn Fox as a slot receiver has done very well. He has been dependable. The crew of receivers is young. Besides Geremy and Shak, a lot of guys have to prove themselves.”

Last ten years:

Reports: A can play, B is a stud, C is a gamebreaker.

Results: Somewhere just north of zero

Me going forward: I'll believe it when I see it.
I disagree with results just north o zero. I thought despite having poor offensive line play and a first year qb. Geremy Davis and shak had decent seasons to build on.

Yes I was talking in general over a decade hype to results ratio has been low. But Davis looked great at times and Phillips made some plays.

This crop was hurt by the line. Past stables hurt by quarterbacks. Easley hurt by being ignored.

I was just making light of some of the chatter over the years.

Oh there is that refrain again.

Who coached the offensive line the last two seasons?

Phillips I thought was a huge disappointment last year. Davis was better than I expected, but he wasn't Jerry Rice by any stretch. Lack of fundamental plays by the oline was a problem, for sure, but that didn't cause Phillips to drop passes he should have caught. I guess I agree with whaler on this. I'll believe these guys will be good when they actually are good.

Your new "whining" cry.

I know the truth hurts you and Senior Citizen Husky.

A year from now, when we are finishing Spring Practice with the new HC, you'll be telling us all about how bad Pasqualoni was. Just like how you flip flopped on Edsall.

Foley the first year
GDL, with Foley coaching the TEs and OTs the second year.

Guess which season we actually had a decent running game in...

Oh wait, I'll save you the trouble for posting the deflection:

"Edsall never recruited any good offensive linemen, and we had a first year BCS QB, and that's why we had the worst offense in Div. I"

Phillips improved alot last year, I think he only had one catch at BC for 9 yards as a true freshmen, so he had no experience and he sat out 2011. he came in last year and struggled initially, catching only 8 balls for 90 yards with a number of drops the first 6 games of the season. however he really came on as the season progressed and finished with 32 catches for 399 yards receiving ( 24 for 309 yards the final six games) including a 100 yard game which is pretty good. I think his improvement was evident. He also caught the TD pass from J Mac in the Louisville Game which was clutch, his first career TD. Geremy Davis was vastly improved from his RS Freshman season, he stepped up his game and he showed the ability to consistently beat average to weaker bcs corners. I think that he will continue to improve even more. These two guys have got to get in the end zone more, but I think that they will improve. I think that Foxx is really going to step up he's going into his jr season and should make some noise in the slot this year.
