- For some reason, every time I hear a play by play guy say Riebe, I hear it as Brimah.
- We get our first fleeting lead (6-5) at 17:26 and lose it at 17:20. We go up three at 16:50, and unless I missed something, we never trailed again.
- The Mullin show is on!
- 1st double digit lead 7 and a half minutes left in half.
- I thought that Alex's layup with 3 seconds left in the half to make the lead 9 was a key moment in the game, and that was the point that I knew in my heart that the Huskies would secure the victory.
- Half time stats of note... 25% better FG shooting for the good guys (68/43) and 23 dimes to 5.
- One of the prettiest dimes I've ever seen came at 16:55 of the 2nd half. Mullins tap of the loose ball to Alex for the open layup to push the lead back to double digits. That's highlight reel gold right there.
- Jaylin's free throws made the score 53-44 @ 14:13. It remained unchanged until a Texas FT @ 11:53. That stretch included our ugliest possession so far this season (13:56 to the 13:26 mark.) I tried rewatching that possession, but couldn't take it. Made me start to suspect that my end of the first half confidence boost might've been misguided.
- With 4 and a half minutes left in the game, it felt like our entire team was in foul trouble.
- But despite the foul disparity, a 4 point lead became 11 in what felt like no time at all.
- MALACHI misses at the line with 45 seconds to go and an 8 point lead. TX scores with 34 sec left. But then we get Jaylin's breakaway dunk, and we're breathing easier.
- After TX misses a layup and a 3, we get the rebound and the refs, apparently programmed to not call anything on TX in the second half, end up doing us a favor by not calling either of attempted intentional fouls by Tx as we bring the ball down court. Game over.
