In Springfield last night Capital Prep routed Oregon's #3 team [South Medford] 82-50.
Maryland bound senior Kiah Gillespie had 36 with 19 boards. Junior [verbal to Syracuse]
Desiree Elmore had 28 with 15 boards and 9 assists. The South Medford coach said
his team has played 2 national top 5 teams and CP is better than both.

Just wondering: have there been any Ct. teams [ever?] who match CP?
Back in the day NFA had some very solid squads [I remember Saona Chapman as their point].
CP plays Mercy [maybe #2 in the state] at UHart Monday night.

Props to Capital Prep!

Mercy is talented and well coached. Capital Prep will have the 2 best players, while Mercy will have the better team. Should be interesting.

Before 1800 at UHart last night CP blew out Mercy 88-48. It was fairly close early in the second half but then CP just
ran away with it. Elmore had 32 and Gillespie 28. No way they don't deserve to be in the national top 25 rankings.

The undefeated 1995 Bridgeport Central team with Nadine Domond (Iowa), Paula Moore (Syracuse) and Audra Spremullo (Siena) would certainly rank up with the top teams of all time in the state. Domond is currently the women's coach at Grambling.

Bradley.....good point!

I had the pleasure of seeing Domond a couple of times when in high school. IMO.....she was as talented
a combo guard as Nykesha [same class] was a small forward. I wish we had gotten her....we'd have more than 9 rings now.
