Insider access required but here's the relevant tidbit (taken from another board).

Binghamton second baseman L.J. Mazzilli doesn't appear to have the footwork or the offense to profile at that position, and since he can't handle shortstop, he doesn't have a future as a utility infielder.

But he certainly has the frame of a big league catcher, and I've had a few scouts (going back to when he was at UConn) suggest he'd be a candidate to move there, especially given his feel for the game. The Mets really should do this, as Mazzilli is running out of time (he's 24) and has little value to them or anyone else while he's at the keystone sack.

Believe it or not, one of my boys often saw Lee Mazzilli pere et fils at a dance school in Greenwich in the 1990s, where my son was on the staff as a pianist.
