Many thanks...!

Why does this look like a major smack down waiting to happen...

Napheesa had a strong, solid game.

I know Connie Yori cannot wait until Jessica Shepard finally gets there. She has another year of high school ball yet to play. It would not surprise me at all if she was the # 1 recruit coming out next year !

Napheesa played "up". Jessica Shepherd too. Also Maybery and Walker - why is she ranked 54 by HG in the 2015 class ? Seems off... Are there any others? Why did these 4 play up and not on the U16 team with Samuelson and Boykin? Is Napheesa slightly older? gotta say - very impressive not only that she is a starter on a team with kids all a year ahead of her, but that she was as effective a scorer against the best international players who are up to 2 years older than her. 10 points AND 8 boards.

The guards played well too - assists to turnovers was a very solid %.

Not sure why the 4 played above their recruiting class, but it might have had something to do with their birthdates (LINK), which are mostly within a few months of each other.

As for Walker being under-ranked by Olson, that's not uncommon for him. While the other recruiting sites (old Hoopgurlz, ASGR, and Blue Star) ranked Kayla McBride between 20th and 24th, Olson (who runs Collegiate Girls Basketball Report) ranked her 68th! This year, Prospects Nation (run by part of the crew that used to run Hoopgurlz), has Destinee Walker ranked 14th.

The guards passed well, but they didn't shoot jumpers well. The passes inside to the bigs were not difficult entry passes, however, given the height-challenged opponents.

The tallest player on Mexico is listed at 5' 11", which is probably a stretch. FIBA Americas is kinda the JV of international basketball, FIBA Europe being one of the most competitive. The priority is always the team that goes to the World championships, that's why the try outs for U17 names take precedent over those invited to the Americas team.

Next year you will probably see a combination of the World team and this one. The biggest weakness on this team was the 0 for 10 on wide open 3s not surprising they are being told to get the ball inside considering the height advantage. Was a little surprised Dawn let them fast break til the end as the opponent was clearly overmatched.

Looks like Nebraska is getting a gone one in Jessica Shepard.

A'ja Wilson with a double-double and shot 7-10...very efficient.

Turner also efficient on offense with 8-11 shooting.
