I think you can guess when, approximately, I was born.
Beatles - She said she said...
Led Zepplin - Babe, I'm gonna leave you
The Who - Love Reign O'er Me
Rolling Stones - Angie
Pink Floyd - Wish you were here.
Didn't see the Beatles in person, but I was fortunate enough to see the other four live.

It's tie between this & "Join Together" for my favorite Who song.

Ooof, these 'Top 5' or 'Top ?' choices are tuff. Right after I post I want to make changes.
Anyway...
The Who - another vote for 'Love Reign O'er Me' , but I would have linked the 1985 Live Aid video.
The Statler Brothers - Bed of Roses
John Hiatt - Thing Called Love. YT has a nice live collab with Bonnie Raitt
Pink Floyd - One Slip. Live, from The Delicate Sound of Thunder compilation
And I think these 3 Mexican sisters are destined for greatness, I listen to their music every day, this is one of two (so far)
compositions in their native Spanish:

The Warning - Martirio

Group #2 for me - C,S,N,& Y. Always hard to pick just one, but I'll make it "Wooden Ships"

I was listening to Southern Cross while sitting in Central Park earlier today. The best harmony that rock has ever heard.

I have to add a sixth or I won't sleep tonight.

My #4 - Van Morrison:

Love this song! The first time I heard it was a live version on local VT station- can't find that version anywhere. It wasn't Van singing but another band covered it. Doesn't matter, great song!

Not sure about the Who song chosen by a few people- Love Reign over me- not what I would choose from the Who. I'd go with Substitute, or 5:15, or I've had enough, This band gets overlooked sometimes but were phenomenal.

You remind me of Glenn Campbell's Southern Night, a very good song too.

Oh, geez. Top five can mean two different things to me: 5 best or 5 favorite. 5 best will be easier for me and better for the board, because I don't think you can be one of the "best" without both having at least some popularity and staying power, so that list would skew older and more popular than 5 favorites. The Moody Blues would be on both.

Moody Blues
Renaissance
Yes
Beatles
Miles Davis

Here's one from the Moodies that doesn't get as much press as some of theirs:

For us old timers....

1. Annette Hanshaw
2. Roy Orbison
3. Jackie Wilson
4. Ink Spots
5. Benny Goodman

How many have heard of "The Personality Girl"? She's not as well known as others, but she's among the best! (I have all of her CDs)

Oh, man, I just came across this on YT: A live Renaissance album I didn't know about. This is a wicked cool song:

The Moody Blues are number one for me, and I've been fortunate to see them starting in 1972 and then at the SPAC in 2018, I believe, just before they finally called it quits as a group. Love 'Have You Heard,' Bigboote!

Moody Blues/'Tuesday Afternoon' (by a narrow margin over dozens of others)
Bee Gees/'I Started A Joke'
Queen/'Bohemian Rhapsody'
Abba/'The Winner Takes It All' (although 'Dancing Queen' is pretty darned special)
Neil Diamond/'Be' (with apologies to our girl Caroline)

How, oh how, do I leave out Roy Orbison/'In Dreams'?

Thanks so much, Scud49, for confusing the heck out of me... this a such a difficult list to make.

And, bowing to my Irish heritage, U2, The Chieftains, Van Morrison and the Cranberries...
