Leslie is indeed a hometown legend. Los Angeles is a hotbed for basketball. The Lakers had taken the city by storm with their “showtime” antics, not to mention the multiple championships they had recently won.

The Sparks came into existence at the perfect time, on the heels of the Lakers success. After a 4 year run through WCBB at nearby USC, Leslie became the face of the Sparks.

The Sparks continue to enjoy fan and community support today, often playing to crowds in excess of 10,000 per game.

Congratulations to one of our hometown heroes Lisa Leslie, who is also a 2015 Naismith Hall of Fame inductee.
