Last night I was thinking as a freshman, who was the last freshman posting double double in his first 2 games and when…

Fanta read my mind:

Liam got all the tools, and a good head to boot. He will flourish and develop into a Swiss Army knife type of player for Hurley and just imagine when He and AK are both on the court during the same stretch.

At the risk of being overreacting, I do see this team exhibit the same pattern and trait as the last 2 NC teams. They learn offense, team play, their roles in the game, clean up their mistakes and run the other teams off as the games go on, with the perfect substitutions, rotation calls, and chess moves from Hurley and his coaches.

I’ll end with another Hurley’s zinger: “we are perfecting a style of basketball that is unbeatable!” I guess it’s true there must be something in the sauce as Jay Bilas pointed out.

Let’s enjoy the season and cheer for the young Huskies!

It will be interesting to see how this teams develops.

Offensively, the 2023 champs were about holding even until Hawkins could get a hot streak and then killing teams with the ground game through Sanogo late. In 2024 it was about having 3 PGs on the floor at all times and an incredibly efficient offense.

This year could be about having a great variety of scorers throughout the lineup or about 3 (or 4 with Reed) consistent scorers. Or both. It is still too early to see if the offense fully gels with so many players getting on the floor and without all the PGs -- but I wouldn't bet against the UConn coaching staff getting it out of them.
