I’m all about that pull up three on the break. Big shot in a big spot, but it’s more about what it implies. Kid has some big stones. Love watching young players play with that much confidence. It makes all the difference in their development. He doesn’t get shook. Basketball is best played with instinct and without conscience or memory . Liam does that. My favorite player this year. He came here to win. He reminds me of a frosh Karaban in the way he comports himself, and that’s a high compliment. He has a more refined tool set at this point too. He will have some monster games this year, and we are going to need them.
Montverde is quasi college level. He's very mature for a freshmen. I said earlier this year how when you watch him talking and directing guys in games, he's like a coach on the court. That's rare for a freshmen. Most freshmen are like deer in headlights.
Yep. I've also said that program should be a real focus for our staff. The competition at practice prepares them for the college game much better than a star player on a team that plays cupcakes.Montverde is quasi college level.
Robert O. Wright was fantastic last night for Baylor too. 22 and 4 assists. Kid is a jet. Then you had Cooper with a huge (usual) Cooper game filling every line of the stat sheet 22pts ,11Reb ,4 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks - ridiculous) taking down the best team in the country last night. Oh and Derrick Queen went for 17 and 11 in a win against Ohio state. The Monteverde kids, ALL OF THEM, are appointment viewing for me. Got to see those 4 last night flipping around channels, they never disappoint . Only Newell didnt play last night. On Tuesday he had 20 and 11 for Georgia burying another ACC team.Yep. I’m gonna say it.He was our leader yesterday, particularly in the first half when we got down and in crunch time. He's got a lot of tools on the mental side of the game that separate him from other freshman
The cajones to take that transition three were HUGE
The few times I looked at the bench to see what Alex was doing, he was sitting & clapping calmly. I would have expected more cheerleading...but maybe he's not allowed to get excited yet. Then again, I may have missed stuff since I was more focused on the game.I’m gonna say it.
I think he needs to take more charge and be our floor leader this year. I think he’s an alphas alpha and exudes that confidence. I love Alex and he’s one of my all time favorite Huskies but it’s just not in his DNA to be the guy.

They made a point of showing him being a de facto assistant coach during timeouts, so not sure what you were seeingThe few times I looked at the bench to see what Alex was doing, he was sitting & clapping calmly.
