I don't think Thompson at UVA survives & I got a suspicion that the Florida Ad whiffs and does not sign the current interim coach. .Kelly Rae Finley . Same bonehead move made by the Miss St. AD not hiring Johnnie Harris

Thompson's the main one on the chopping block I can think of. Some people are calling for Elzy's head but I think they'll give her at least another year or 2. Kentucky's righting the ship and looks like a tournament team right now.

Nancy Fahey might be up at Illinois. Bad results for 5 years now. Lance White at Pitt. Pebley has had a couple of rough years at TCU but likely gets another year.

No way Florida doesn't get KRF a great contract IMO.

Agree with who you've listed, and would also add Kieger from PSU

TAMU, syracuse, Florida, miss St are open

Contingent on buyouts:
  1. Illinois (5th year)
  2. Virginia (4th year)
  3. Pitt (4th year)
  4. Rutgers
  5. Alabama
  6. TCU (8th)

This is only Kiegers 3rd year. Seems very unlikely.
Not saying she's on the chopping block, but the seat may be a little warm. I see it similarly to Kentucky where they may wait it out another year or 2

The Florida situation is one that I’m keeping an eye on. When CN resigned there were multiple former players and articles talking about how KRF was aware of the situation and “cleaned” up the mess so to speak. I wonder if that will effect the administrations decision. She had had a fantastic year and lost one of their best players to the portal. No one saw them finishing in the top half of the SEC. NO ONE! Bottom line: she got results but I’m just curious how the school proceeds and I wonder if that’s why they haven’t removed the interim tag.

- Lance White's teams play hard, but he just can't seem to get an upgrade in talent via recruiting and/or the portal. Pitt has made too much forward progress in other sports (volleyball, soccer) to sit by too much longer.

Weirdly enough, another Fla. State asst. coach might work a tad better here. Brooke Wyckhoff had FSU play hard when she took over for one year, plus she's from nearby Ohio and that could help recruiting.

- I've been suprised that Kieger's team at Penn State has seemingly taken a step back this year. Kelly Jekot and Leilani Kapinus were back from inury; Ali Brigham was a good transfer in at post from GW; Niya Beverly came back and PG Makenna Marisa was improving. Only Marisa has consistently played well and Shooting Guard Maddie Burke has flat-out disappeared (check the portal if you need a three-pt. shooter).
Yes, Kierger will get another year, but the Marquette magic she produced doesn't seem to be translating to Happy Valley.

- As for folks ready to step up, I'd look no further than Dayton's Shauna Green. With a lot of folks looking Rhode Island and Fordham in the Atlantic, Dayton is 22-4. She's been very consistent and is only 42.

Trina Patterson of UNC-Greensboro. This is her sixth season... although they were the #1 seed in the SoCon tourney and won 23 games in the 2019-20 season, the last two seasons have netted only 16 combined wins heading into the season finale tomorrow vs Western Carolina. Just two winning seasons in her six, a new AD, combined with a ambitious President doesn't boderee well for her.

I think Penn State will hold off, as others said she hasn't been there that long.

A number of programs have issues, it doesn't mean they are (all) going to change coaches. I (currently) see the following programs as having issues:
  • Illinois, Minnesota
  • Alabama, Auburn
  • Clemson, Pittsburgh, Virginia (duh), Wake? - I thought Clemson and Wake were on an upward trend, but not-so-much; I don't now about their coaching situations
  • I'm wondering about OK State; of course Pebley at TCU. Others are just having off years.

Florida might want to look at their interim, certainly not Syracuse I would think. However, as others posted, Finlay was apparently involved in covering up the head coach's misdeeds, so not sure it is the right choice. That said, the team is playing for her.

Rutgers is a whole other issue. Vivian has lost an enormous amount of fan support; rightly or not many resent her taking a year off after signing a 5 year golden parachute contract. With 8 current players leaving (graduations, many single season transfers in) even 2 decent recruits doesn't hold out much hope. And to think they made the NCAA's last year.

Auburn is in first year with new coach

Okla St did go to the NCAAs 2nd round last year. But after a run of ncaa berths they’ve only made it once in the previous 3 years, and they won’t in 2022.

Whalen has a strong recruiting class. I never believed that MN wasn’t going to give her a full 5+ years. This is only her 4th. If they show progress next year, she’ll get more time.

I forgot Auburn had made a change.

Littell had a really strong season last year, I'm not sure Oklahoma State would make a change, but a quick look a while back got me wondering, he really has not been spectacular. Then again, OSU might not care.

I also expect Whalen to get another year. But she has been thus far quite unspectacular.

We'll take Kelly Rae Finlay if Florida doesn't want her.

Oklahoma State keeps losing its best players to transfer:
  • Braxtin Miller (Ohio State)
  • Vivian Gray & Bryn Gerlich (Texas Tech)
  • Ja'Mee Aberry (Baylor)

Hyperbole and a Half will change your life. She started it as a blog, then turned it into a book, and then recently released a second one. She's a total recluse and has openly battled depression (much of the second book tackles the subject, but in such a nuanced, moving, human way). Her stories are so inventive and creative and yet penetratingly relatable, all while being laugh out loud funny. (Truly laugh out loud.)

One of my favorite "authors" of the past decade, if not all time.
