"Wake Forest AD Ron Wellman took a flight to Muncie on Wednesday night to see if Pete Lembo is the right man for Wake's first football head coach opening in 13 years. From what I have heard Wellman will leave Muncie and will be in Detroit later tonight to take a look at Bowling Green head coach Dave Clawson, as his Falcons take on NIU in the MACC.
On Thursday night Pete Lembo held a team meeting in Muncie and told his players, "Nothing has changed." . That would be the slim amount of hope in the situation for Ball State.
Pete Lembo also meets all the ideal characteristics that Wellman is looking for in a head coach. One of the bigger things Wellman is looking for is a man who has coached at a private school and Lembo has coached at two in Elon and Lehigh, both with impressive results.
More to come in the coming hours and days on Ball State and other coaching situations in the MAC."
