Another first for Geno and his program....carl adamec @CarlAdamec
Maya Moore joins ex @UConnWBB players Charles ('12) and Taurasi ('09) as MVPs; makes UConn 1st to have 3 different players win honor.
CamrnCrz1974 said:It is not just about performing at a high level, which she always does. It is not about exceeding all expectations and putting up ridiculous numbers this year with two injured starters (24 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals).
It is about THIS (from the ESPN article that VAMike23 linked):
"Moore has never missed a game in her Lynx career, starting all 136 during the regular season and 24 in the playoffs."
Elite production + great performances + sustained excellence = MVP Maya Moore
As far as I can recall, Maya never missed a game in her UConn career either. That doesn't mean that she was never hurt. Most fans will remember the clobbering she took from Epiphanny Prince in one of those Big East conference games.
But she never missed a start and she never failed to play effectively.

Mike, although I would not be able to testify to it in a court of law, you pretty much predicted this at Clyde's prior to the first game of the season against the Mystics on May 16th.
How could you miss it?! She started that fast break with the steal on the other end and was the fastest player down the court with the pretty finish. Maya never takes a play off! Simply amazing!Watching Minnesota San Antonio. Did you guys see that layup by Maya Moore?
I think I was in agreement too. We were in the Maya Moore Room at Clyde's.Mike, although I would not be able to testify to it in a court of law, you pretty much predicted this at Clyde's prior to the first game of the season against the Mystics on May 16th.
