But there were in fact other coaches, and other basketball programs, that achieved excellence both before and during her heyday. Geno and Tara were both on their way to building great success before Pat ever won her first national championship at Tennessee. To say they would've been nothing without Pat is not only dishonest, it's insulting. The Tennessee fans' angst is of course understandable, but enough already with the self-serving fairy tales.
