This one of the best pieces of sports journalism ESPN has done this year. Others can disagree with some of their choices, but I’m struck (finally) by the balance of their analyses. It’s not just that UConn is back in the top 5, though that is encouraging. They express a sensible recognition of the impact of injuries, both temporary and long term, in our recent play. Similarly, the treatment of other teams, like Indiana Utah Duke Illinois and even LSU seems more balanced than I’ve seen of late.

Could be that the balance of their analysis is due to teams having started conference play and there are fewer cupcake opponents for certain teams to constantly play.

ESPN could not ignore what Uconn has achieved with the depleted team that they have and the quality of the teams Uconn is beating. I am amazed at our record and how well the team is coping with all the injuries. I am heartened with the thought that we will almost be at full strength in a few days with all who are available and the team will have an easier road to be on. I believe with all my heart that Uconn women's basketball players are the true heart and soul of all Women's college basketball teams and an inspiration to all new comers to the sport . Geno's record speaks for itself as to how great it is. No parallel. GO HUSKIES!!!!
