The trials will take place on May 16-20 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I did not see a UConn player listed as a trials participant on the press release that came out this morning. Was there no availability and/or interest from Crystal Dangerfield or Christyn Williams to represent the U.S. in this event? I am speculating that both would have been invited to the trials. The eventual commitment, if selected on the final roster, requires participation in a training camp from July 23-August 5 and in the Pan Am Games tournament in Lima, Peru from August 6-10. Sabrina Ionescu did not accept an invite to participate in the Pan Am games trials, but her Oregon teammate Ruthy Hebard did. Breanna Stewart was the star of the silver medal 2015 USA Pan Am Games squad with points/rebounds averages of 18.6/9.0 for the five games. Stewart, as a high school athlete, also played for the U.S. in the 2011 Pan Am Games in Mexico.
