"The five teams that are going to be at the South Point were five teams we already had," Seymour said. "To be honest, our other five are happy they (the three that withdrew) aren't there anymore because they like it as a non-Power Five event. We took those three to help. It's OK. It's really actually better for us because they're not there this year for that particular event."

These are just sad comments from an unprofessional tournament. I don't blame these 3 teams from backing out.

I'm guessing the push-back is against the organizers.

The Southpoint has an actual, if small, arena and has hosted a tournament many times in the past. In fact, pre-Covid, we were thinking about maybe running up for one of them (we always stayed at the South Point). Now with my wife's health concerns we don't really travel and only I go to the Arizona home games.

It is not the same group that ran the Thanksgiving tournament at the Mirage. The Sports Tour International group at South Point has been running this tournament for at many years, and have never had any issues. From the way I read this is that Destination Basketball only signed these teams as participants in the tournament, they are not running it.

The one at the Mirage was ran by Destination Basketball, which was their first ever ran tournament in the State. I don't think they will be running in the near future due to the way they ran the one at the Mirage.
