The Storm set the league record with 17 made three-pointers. They had a 24-point lead after Q1. Sounds like a UConn game.

Some of the 3-point shooting:

Stewie 2-4

Jewell 5-6 (she has added this to her repertoire!)

Alisha Clark 2-2

Sue 3-4

Kaleena 3-4 (remember her??)

I lost $25. Had Las Vegas +12. WNBA is hard though I knew Storm were good at home. Hindsight dumb bet. Lost night before with Phoenix to win outright no line to Mystics. Mystics were +8 and killed them. Playing so much better without Della Donne. Am 4-4 so far with a 4 game losing streak.

Kaleena is shooting three's at .667 pct. (8 for 12) and Alysha Clark is at .571 (8 for 14). Ms. Loyd is a tinge under 50% at .486, but that's not bad when you see she's taken 37 three-points attempts, second most in the league up to now.

Getting to the line and making three throws is a major weapon for Jewell: Loyd has missed one free throw in 32 FT attempts (most in the league) and I think that miss was one of her first of the season, so she's on a roll.

Speaking of rolls....unbelievably, there are three players who are perfect with 10 or more FT attempts:
Diana Taurasi (17), Diamond DeShields (12) and Kia Nurse (10).

Jewell 5-6 (she has added this to her repertoire!)

It was part of her repertoire her first two years at Notre Dame and then didn't resurface until last year. I haven't watched her much with the Storm but I wonder if it's more about shot selection than it is purely shooting ability. To my (admittedly not expert) eyes, her form has always looked good.

There are a lot of players on the Aces that I like -- not only McBride and Allen but folks like Jefferson, A'ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Tamera Young as well. But it really isn't coming together for them...yet. I don't know when MoJeff is back, but maybe she is the difference maker they need.

Seattle may be a team. That can make a run at the finals. Russell had a couple of nice blocks last night.

I was hopeful year 2 would see a big step forward for Plum. She's only been back for 2 games but not making much of an impact so far. Hardly shooting the ball. They might be emphasizing becoming more of a play maker for her, but scoring has always been the best part of her game. If she isn't doing that...

The offense has changed radically for that team. Feed the big girl.
