Should Lamb leave OKC? Can he leave OKC? (no knowledge of his contract) If so where could he fit?

Lamb is in the 3rd year of his 4 year rookie deal, with OKC holding a team option for the 4th year at 3.03 million. With all the DNP's and garbage time minutes he's been getting, I'd say it's almost 100% certain he'll be traded by the deadline, otherwise he'll be a prime candidate to be cut after the season. OKC's cap situation is already tight and they aren't going to pay him 3M to ride the pine when they need to resign other players.

Where could he fit? I think there's a number of teams that could use a backup SG and are willing to take a chance on a 22 year old with a lot of upside. Miami and Indy come to mind.

His option for next year at 3 mil was already picked up. Something has to give. I expect either he or Jackson or both are moved by the deadline. Not playing him makes little sense.

I love Lamb but something ain't right. Can't put all the blame on the coach or the organization. When you get your minutes, be ready to contribute at all times.

Sure the right organization could help, but regardless the NBA is a tough business to earn a living.

Lamb certainly deserves a lot of the blame for his lack of PT - he had a golden opportunity to establish himself early in the season when Durant and Westbrook were injured, but failed to do so.

But I still the the majority of the blame has to fall on Presti and his hack coach, Brooks. OKC has shuffled through complementary players like a dealer at a casino. While he hasn't had anyone nearly as good as Harden, Brooks has had plenty of talent on his rosters over the past several years ... yet he's failed to establish a well-functioning offense or bench. At some point, it stops being a coincidence that all these guys lose confidence under Brooks.

I go back to last season, when Lamb and Perry Jones were having nice sophomore seasons in the NBA, but immediately saw their PT decline in favor of Caron and Fisher. I understand giving more time to the vets when you're trying to win a title. But you can't spend half a season developing young talent, and then immediately cut them out of the rotation. That's the type of decision that sets young players back a year or two.
