I looked ahead at the following game after Zona, and the Lafayette game start time is not the normal 7pm. Why is at starting at 6pm ?

I believe this game was originally on SNY then changed right before the start of the season to ESPNU as @tcf15 notes.

I wish they kept it on SNY. I like the pregame, postgame shows and of course prefer the 7pm start.

Yea I wonder what goes into the decision making process on this. Interestingly, the SNY site says they air 5 men's basketball games a season, yet they have 7 this year (would have been 8 with Lafayette).

The better we are, the more games ESPN takes so that's less for SNY. Going 14-18 last year led to that.

I'd rather have SNY games then CBSSN games or the occasional ESPN News game.

I prefer the SNY broadcasts as well - wonder what gets better exposure though given that CBS SN isn't just limited to the north east.

I can't imagine ESPN buying this game. Especially at that time slot.

Maybe it's the one SNY was willing to give up, given a contractual obligation?

I contacted the AD to move the game time because it's inconveniencing some fans. They laughed at me. Not to be deterred I told them these are not ordinary fans but folks on The Boneyard. We rate. They didn't laugh at me the second time.

Perfect opportunity to get a pre-game fish sandwich at Mickey's.

I’d pick SNY. Over ESPN. I think they do a better gamecast.

But I get the esyracusepn get us more exposure nationally

At least it’s not the UConn USF game that was broadcasted remotely from Bristol on ESPNNews

I agree, SNY does a first rate job. To ESPN it’s just one of hundreds of games. It’s treated like a commodify.
