So I’m at the Celtics game and I noticed the back of Kyrie’s sneakers. Huskies. Picture attached. Why does he have UConn on his sneakers? Finally a smart Dukie! Can you buy these?

So he walks into the UCONN locker room and gets fitted for free sneaks? At least I pay taxes in this state. I’m size 10 1/2, so UCONN send me a pair.

It’s his signature shoe with the husky logo on it.. He can get any iteration of it from Nike anytime he wants.. with that said, not sure why he chose to wear the UConn logo pair today but it’s nothing but positive for our brand recognition and I love it

Side note: I’d be irked by this if I were a Duke fan.. can you imagine one of our alumni in the NBA (use Kemba or Drummond as example) wearing a shoe with the Duke logo on it?!

Kyrie has never been known for his loyalty

These were a special edition made by Nike for friends and family of the UConn program. This is not Kyrie asking for a shoe with the UConn logo on it. They used the Kyrie 5s so they probably gave him a pair since its a rare version of his signature shoe.

His sneakers are pretty good by the way.
Probably the best amongst all current basketball shoes. I just wish they made them in high top.

If we ever got big and tall matching urinals to these sneakers, we would be in business. LOL

Written on his left sneaker is "10/23 Whiplash". We were trying to figure out what that means.

Weird, are those just his warmup sneaks? I don't think they are the current 'Kyrie's'

You just made a previous creepy and whacked out post even creepier. Way to go Chief.

You have zero humor or even the slightest awareness that humor is something others use or enjoy outside your parent’s basement.

Guys wear throwbacks all the time now tho. Ever since they opened up the shoe game, guys go crazy. PJ Tucker's been playing in sneakers from 15 years ago (LeBrons).

After missing the final five games of the 2015 NBA Finals with a knee injury, Kyrie Irving turned to one of his favorite players for some added inspiration. It was in Kobe Bryant's documentary, "Muse," where Irving discovered Bryant's love for the movie "Whiplash."
"I was like, 'Man, I got to catch that movie.' I had no idea what it was going into it," Irving told Geno Auriemma on the Connecticut women's basketball coach's "Holding Court" podcast. "I ended up ordering it and watching it, and watched it over and over, and watched it probably about six times."
