They shouldn't take his scholarship away.

He's a great kid.

He's not a good enough basketball player to be here or really near any good D1 program

He's taking up space, basically.

Anyone who thinks he's a professional anything needs to smack their head off a wall a few times just to make sure basic things in their brain are still firing.

I would be willing to bet you $$ right now that Kwintin Williams makes money playing basketball in some capacity, whether its overseas or in a Globetrotter type capacity. There IS a spot on a roster somewhere for a 6'7" guy with his jumping and dunking ability.
Boo Willingham played professionally for many years overseas and he did virtually nothing at UConn averaging 1 point per game for his college career.

Let’s not overplay a couple of inappropriate comments on KW. Like to see him get a degree.

Every team has players who don't play. Kwintin is that guy here, and I think he realizes why. Might have gotten some minutes at a lower level program. Nobody is pulling a scholarship, it's just the musings of a college kid.

Whaley is a piece, but he relies on his leaping ability and hurt his ankle. I don't think he's 100%. With Sid in now, and Polley playing mostly 4, there's not a lot left. Diarra will consume even more of those minutes at the 4 when he returns.

Yawke is mostly the 3rd center off the bench, not a 4. It's not like he's playing a ton, and Whaley is really not big/strong enough to play center against anything other than very small teams. Arizona is not that, so it wasn't a game where he was going to see much time.

God I hate Twitter.

Especially for kids. They've got so many damn emotions and half the brain cells, and therefore say the stupidest things. It's a nightmare.

Put the phone down, Kwintin.
Something is going on. The fact that Akok committed and this happened most likely isn’t coincidence. But I shouldn’t speculate. I hope he gets through it

I think its time to leave this alone and in turn hopefully KW can concentrate on whatever he chooses to focus upon

I hope Kwintin isn't getting pushed out because if you offer a scholarship it should be honored. I expect UConn isn't taking this away from him without him agreeing.

A side note: Kwintin is 24 years old. While still young in terms of life & public criticism, he is very old for a college basketball player.

UConn men’s notebook: Akok Akok is ‘happy to be a Husky’

Akok, who committed to UConn on Saturday afternoon, is planning to enroll at the school for the second semester and join the team as a walk-on, paying his way for a semester while getting better and stronger practicing with the team.

I sure hope that he's not coming to let Sal put 20# of muscle on him for the draft. That would be like getting Double Diallo'd and Kasango'd at the same time.

Whole bunch of different blues artists been doing a song about that stuff for the past 80 some-odd years.

Even if he did do that (highly unlikely), he's paying his way. So what do we have to lose? He's not taking a scholarship yet. If he leaves before next season, we can't miss what we never had, and he paid his own way to be here.

His instagram used to say something along the lines of “UConn MBB”. That’s no longer there.

That's like 42 in NBA years.

Is Williams being pushed out to make room for Akok? If the scholarship can be transferred mid year, and this is the case, it's a terrible thing to do.

Scholarships cannot be transferred mid year. If Kwintin left the team, he'd still take up that scholarship for the remainder of the season.

The whole pushing 'someone out thing' was needless boneyard hand wringing.

The only time someone could potentially be pushed out would be during the off season.
