... for 50 points vs. Sac State, setting a new school record:

Anigwe’s career night makes Cal program history

Sophomore forward Kristine Aginwe became the first Cal player (man or woman) to record a 50-point game, leading the Bears to a school-record 8-0 start with a 97-73 trouncing of Sacramento State at Haas Pavilion.

The Preseason All-America selection scored 50 points on 19-of-23 shooting and added 14 rebounds in 24 minutes to pass Alexis Gray-Lawson’s 47-point outing against Oregon State in 2010.

Anigwe shot 19-of-23 from the field but just 12-of-19 from the free throw line. Scary to think she could've been in the mid-50s with better free throw shooting.

And only in 24 minutes. If she plays all 40, she would've been on pace for 83 points. Interested to see how Cal does this year. Kristine is a heck of a player.

I was at the game. Kristine is great but Sac State is atrocious. Last year KA scored 43 against them. Sac State is a classic run and gun team but without talent. KA is 6'4" and she towered over her defenders. Cal would just lob the ball over the much shorter defenders and she would turn around and put it in. This was practice. After watching every UConn game for years this game was hard to watch. Sac State was 11-50 on 3 point attempts. They would fly down the court and shoot from 25' and then miss. Ugh.

NCAA and ESPNW Player of the Week for sure, regardless of the Competition Cal played. Who knows, since ND didn't win, Cal may win NCAA Team of the Week.

Can't see how Gabby doesn't get it this week after that performance on ESPN Wednesday night.

Sacramento State has given up the following amount of points this season vs D1 teams
91, 96, 99, 99, 102, 85, 111, 97.
Someone needs to introduce the players to the defensive end of the court.

And in three of the games that they've lost, Sac State has scored 95, 94, and 95. Wild.

Last year Sac State twice scored 126 in a game. Was at USC vs Sac State game . Minyon Moore, Mariya's sister had 15 assists for USC. Some eye popping numbers are posted against Sac State.
They run 3 sets of 5 players the whole game using all 15. No size so they have to press and shoot 3's ALL game. They are in shape. USC won 111-95. Last years game verse UCLA was actually entertaining seeing them turnover Jordin Canada a few times with nice traps in first half. It's a fast game anyway. UCLA only led by 10 at half. They had 50 points though!
Few years ago they were tied with Cals Boyd and Gray in 4th quarter.
