Ugh! Get well, Toni!

This narrows the gap between the Cardinal and the Golden Bears.

#13-UCLA's pg, Thea Lemberger, is also out for the post season after injuring her elbow over the weekend in a game @ASU.

I'd say that gap has been filled and then some. I'm expecting Cal to win the conference tourney with Kokenis out.

And of course, whoever gets that #1 seed gets to stay out west, which is kinda important.

Stanford has played a much tougher schedule than Cal has, so I can't agree with you on that.

If Cal wins 2/3 from Stanford, they would not be seeded below Stanford by a sane committee. But since we can't count on that...

2005, when they beat UConn in the sweet 16 in KC

The way the seeding rules work now, Stanford will almost always be in the West unless they are displaced by another PAC team, or if the "West" regional is some place like Denver that might actually be close to some non-West teams. And given that the west regional typically has weak attendance, it needs all the help it can get.

I think there's a decent chance both Stanford and Cal are in Spokane (the committee has certainly done that before -- UConn-RU '08, TAMU-Baylor '11).
