NBA Legend Kobe Bryant Says His Daughter Is 'Hellbent' On Playing For UConn

"Miller was trying to convince Bryant to send his daughter to UCLA, even grabbing the Lakers legend and shouting “UCLA” when Bryant said, “She is hellbent on UConn. Really.”

“Come on, you don’t want her to go that far,” Miller said.

“Her momma don’t want her to go that far,” Bryant responded before the two laughed."

If a small portion Memory still exists didn't Kobe go to HS and live midway in NJ, seems it was near Philly. So the bit about being far from "home" may not take into account the extended NJ family.

Kobe spent a lot of time in Europe, but he played at Lower Merion High School on the Main Line in the Pennsylvania suburbs. One of my son’s friends was on Kobe’s rookie card, being posterized. To say that Kobe dominated the Central League was an understatement.

Gianna has the look of a player.

When a child takes up the sport of a parent who was exceptional in that sport people have hopes/expectations. There also is Gene's and attributes of the parent passed down as well as the (sometimes) training, education, in that field. EDD had a BB trainer from a very early age that didn't seem to her her much.

See Milfords post above. Thank you. He went to the NBA out of a NJ hs. Thanks
Kobe was born in Philly, where his father, Joe "Jelly Bean" Bryant, played for the Sixers. At age 6, the family moved to Italy, where Joe continued his career. They moved back to the U.S., and Kobe played high school ball in the Pennsylvania (not New Jersey) suburbs of Philly.
