In all the excitement around midnight madness, a little noticed quote by Kaleena, reported by Adamec re: Ms Tierney's shooting prowess was overlooked:

.

“One thing Tierney has proven is that she is a great shooter,” UConn All-American Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis said today during American Athletic Conference media day at Mohegan Sun Arena. “That is one thing we have all noticed about her. She is definitely a tough guard. She spots up, we hit her and she makes a three. She has made a couple game-winners in pick-up games so I definitely think she can be helpful.”

As I have said, her tenacity was proven in Karate class when she was a young girl...she earned a 2nd degree blackbelt in our school and you don't earn that rank without tenacity, stick-to-it-tiveness, determination and athletic ability. She was a tremendous rebounder from the guard position in high school...that means toughness...and, if KML says the girl can shoot well, let's consider the source...I mean KML was the best 3 point shooter in the land last year shooting at about 50 percent...pretty good endorsement there I must say. Now, I'm thinking Stacey Marron.

I agree with CF. If KML says someone is a good shooter, then she must be a very good shooter.

Great, just what we need, more points.
I can see it now....the Huskies are up by 30 with 3 minutes to go and Geno empties the bench. The team keeps setting TLaw up for a 3. When she hits her first the fans go wild. We've seen this before, but it never gets old.

I can, also, see an opponent ignoring her when she spots up and her hitting 3 or 4 in a row.

I remember Jacquie Fernandes doing some pretty nifty passes to the delight of the crowd, and even a few fancy scoring plays in transition. Those were great moments!

To me,KML's endorsement of TLaw,is kind of like Gates saying Perkins is a rich man.One who does it exceptionally well, has to be believed when they promote another in their expertise.

Too bad it won't be Notre Dame, eh?

well, not during the regular season (this year), and not like the 15 games we've had with the Irish during the last 4 years. But, who's to say about next year or the year after?

Not to hijack the thread into an ND yea/nay vein, but, I, for one, won't mind a little hiatus.
