KML is awesome

She is ready to accept the mantle of being the next transcendent UConn player. Her performance tonight was downright special.

KML came to play. Awesome game. We play like this we beat ND, next time

What great strides she's made on both sides of the ball in one year. Remarkable and consistent performer.

It's incredible how KML plays the game. She does it all. She came in with the rep of being a great long distance shooter and now she is a complete player. Credit her will and hard work. First team AA!

She's KML, she's the franchise, and the next two years and 11-13 games are going to be really special.

The Maya comparisons aren't apt to me. I think when all is said and done, she will be the closest thing UConn has had to Diana Taurasi since D left. She has a ton of swagger like D did, albeit less overt, a game that reminds me more of D than of Maya, and the will to win that we haven't fully tapped yet.

I think tonight KML identified herself as the star and leader of this team. She is no longer considered part of a dynamic duo or trio or whatever. She stands alone as the best player on this team.

I think that making Kaleena a single star will allow this team to better run the offense. Offense will run through her, and when there is a drought, you go to Kaleena. Having a go to player to bail you out is crucial.

With Kaleena taking the reigns, all we need is a few players to back her up. We need Dolson, Faris, and Hartley to all be able to score on any given possession. Having Hartley and Faris disappear isn't going to allow KML to continue to be open and make plays. Tuck, Stewart, and Jefferson, and Doty can all play more subtle roles if these 4 emerge.

Either way, KML scoring 26 on 11-14 shooting with 15 rebounds against a taller and IMO better Baylor team. That is first team AA, hands down.

My early 1st team list is now Griner, KML, Diggins (inevitable), Chiney, and either Odyssey or Delle Donne. Other player may sneek in there.

It's quite a bit like having a second helping of DT. You see KML putting up a shot that you'd be yelling at the screen if any other of the players took, but instead the thought is "she's making that." And usually, she does! Not to mention everything else she does.

Somebody else mentioned the value of having her established as the star, the go-to player. Ironically that may serve to strengthen her passing game as defenders switch off others to double up on her. She has the court awareness and passing skills to take advantage of those switches and hit the open player.

Most of all, just like DT, she always makes it fun to watch. and that's what makes a "star" more than anything else.
