Espn said FIU or offensive coordinator at LSU. The LSU gig is more in line with his goals of getting back at the helm of a major school according to the d'bags at ESPN, so who knows... Meanwhile, we are stuck with Bobby Red Pants!

Didn't FIU just hire Butch Davis?

FAU and FIU are two different schools. The article indicates Florida Atlantic. Howard Schnellenberger was their first head coach when they started their program.

This whole Kiffin thing makes no sense at all
To all those posters who crowed about the Kiffin to Houston was a stroke of genius - enjoy your egg
There is something about this guy that is scaring and/or creating an issue with all these schools
And though I am too so ready to get rid of HCBD, are all you sure that UConn should even sniff at this Kiffin?

Sadly, FAU is in a better position to succeed as a football program than we are.

Should we sniff Kiffin? Absolutely- we didn't because well- we're UConn football.

Would Kiffin sniff us? Absolutely not. When these high level coaches look at UConn- they see failure written all over the wall. They see an impossible task. It's not fixable the situation were in.

Let that sink in. Florida Atlantic University of CUSA is in a much better position to succeed than we are.

What is happening in BS. We are sleeping as FAU and USF are getting high quality coaches.

Clearly Benedict isn't as on top of things as we hoped he would be. And the slide continues for UConn athletics...

Yeah, fire Diaco with money we don't have from high profile donors than don't exist. Real smart guys.

The incredible thing about this offseason is that those perceived as being most sought after (Miles and Fleck) are both still available. If we were to fire Diaco on 1/1, we could have a top three of Miles, Fleck and Todd Orlando. Imagine that! Granted, I'd say theres about a .01% chance Diaco gets fired on 1/1, but whatever.

Agreed, how didn't Benedict get invoked after Houston passed on him last week and the FAU rumors started? I wonder if Kiffin is that difficult and Benedict knew a lot being at Auburn, etc.

Why would he leave Bama for FIU or FAU? That's nuts. Hell, he'd obviously come to UConn if that's the case.

Kiffin is the wrong type of lunatic. Great coaches are insane - they neglect everything in their lives for football. Kiffin wants the glory but doesn't want to grind hard on the details. He can get the guys, say the right things, call the plays... but he can't seem to master the details of winning. This opinion is not really based on fact but my gut.
