His Royal Highness stated his intention to donate $45 million to the university. His only stipulation was that the university kindly wire a portion of the taxes for the donation—$16,000—to his account in East Lansing, Michigan. “Syracuse did in fact wire this money,” wrote an assistant U.S. attorney.
