Khadeen Carrington visiting UConn today

I'm feeling a commitment by the end of his visit. Seal the deal KO!

I think he's a ways off in making a commitment, but I do feel it is between UConn and St Johns. I hope those comments made by Samuel and Facey's AAU coach about a NYC recruit being uneasy about our conference situation weren't about Carrington.

How good is Carrington? I know any top 100 recruit is a key right now, and I'd gladly have him, but I haven't been following anyone other than Chukwu.

Who are the other big guards? Terrell, Hill, Peak? How does Carrington compare to the other 3?

^^^ one peg under them..

Still very happy if he says yes

I wouldn't really group Peak with the other 3, he's more of a college SF(although Terrell, Hill, and Carrington can play there as well just like Omar). Among the 3 guard recruits its (1)Hill, (2)Carrington, (3)Terrell imo. Carrington is ranked much lower than Terrell but I feel he's better, his ranking is way off. There's no way that there should be gap of 75-80 spots between Carrington and Isiah Whitehead, his competition for best player in NYC.

Thanks for that, nice to know. So UConn would be very happy to grab a kid like that.

no more Cincy, SMU is appearing on a lot of lists these days, I'm hoping LB can get them going and make them a quality program for as long as we're in the conference.

I want out of this conference, but the fact is, most of the schools are actually quality. Memphis and Houston have their problems as schools, but they have had basketball success in the past, and Houston has had football success. As for SMU, they have a lot of pull in the DFW area.

I personally like Carrington's game more than Terrell's. he's definitely the best shooting guard in New York. Explosive scorer

Kinda hard to tell, but Terrell is supposedly strong & explosive too. And if Abu is looking to play with Terrell, I'd take Terrell in a heartbeat. Abu is strong & thinks score in the post. Very different than Facey & Amida.

Carrington and Hill is what I want and I think we have a good chance at it. Carrington seems very under ranked to me, kid is an explosive scorer.

I haven't heard anything between UConn and Terrel lately.

@Coast2CoastHoop: Khadeen Carrington lists St. John's, UConn, Florida State and SMU.
Not for nothing and not that I really care too much but it is good to see SMU pop up on a list like this. If we are going to be in this conference for a while we need Houston, SMU et al to step it up a bit.

There is room for 2 2gs in the class to play along one another. Glad they r trying for that.

I haven't seen play Carrington play at all so glad ppl like him. I love Peaks game but like ace said defently a three in college.

This 2014 class is so important we all assume Ollie will be able to recruit has to go prove it now.

Another thing how awesome would Leron Black be at the four the way we used DeAndre this year.

SMU is the favorite to land McD's All American Keith Frazier

That's a real hoops powerhouse. SMU is famous for their recruiting ability. Does the name Eric Dickerson ring a bell? Maybe they're going back to past habits and applying them to basketball.

It makes no difference to us what they do to recruit players, but it helps our rpi if they're a little more competitive. Larry Brown is also the coach so I'm sure that's attractive to some recruits

love southpaws who have an affinity for putting the ball in the basket. When I last caught a stream of CTK vs Bishop, he was bringing the ball up the court and setting things up. Wonder if he can transition into a 1 in the future.

Read somewhere that KO is recruiting him at a different position, maybe it's the 1.

Carrington is a scorer, he won't play PG. Most likely Hill at SF/SG and Carrington more of a SG. We have Samuel running the show in 2 years at PG.

They need a PG, combo, SF/SG. We'll see. If Omar should progress like I imagine he will, he may be ready for the pros after 3 years. Plenty of playing time at the guard spots for 2014 kids, with only Samuel returning as a pure point.
