I never got into Twin Peaks, but I understand from reviews that this series has the same DNA, with an Aussie bent and some UFOs thrown in. Season One was eight episodes of slow building weirdness, with unexplained natural phenomena, people disappearing for a wide variety of reasons and an alien object found in Antartica that causes brain trauma. Or something. And pretty much no subplots resolved in the finale.
Many of the actors are sort of wooden Aussie soap stars, but the lead is worth it, a 6'3" version of Cate Blanchett.
Not sure if there's a season two, but the way S1 ended without tying up a single loose end, there better be an S2.
If anyone else sat through it, what were your thoughts?
