the team we were supposed to be. top 5 all season and at the top of the BE beating out syacuse for the regular season title then battling it out in the BET in another epic battle with uconn ultimately raising the trophy with a sophomore shooting guard being the MOP and making a run for NPOTY. The much hyped recruit who would fulfill expectations winning national freshman of the year and lifting this team to a repeat national title. A young but steady backcourt a year more experienced and a year wiser with an explosive talented fr coming off the bench looking like a young allen iverson. The big veteren at pf muscling his way to double after double double while a surprise recruit with a sweet shooting stroke beat out scoe for the starting spot at sf.The defense was supposed to shut down all comers with our length and quickness challenging every shot and just slowly suffocating the opposition in to submission.Jim Calhoun was going to ride off into the sunset with back to back national titles bringing his total to 4 and putting him on the mount rushmore of coaching and leaving his successor a thriving program in position to possibly win multiple titles over the next decade.

But here we are on april 5th UK is the national champ,no big east regular season or tournament title and a first round exit in a tournament some argued we didnt deserve to be invited too and with our performance many would find it hard to argue. JC misses a month with health issues after missing 3 big east games for violations, RB has eligibility issues because the ncaa was on a witch hunt, the APR issue has us out of the post season next year before the ball has even been tipped as punishment for something we`ve already been punished for and recruiting has not beared the fruit youd expect from a magical national title run. The bright future that shined so brightly at the end of last season has now turned into a dark cloud of uncertainty looming over the program. A season filled with so many expectations and promise quickly soured and turned out to be as disappointing as last season was a surprise.

WTF are you talking about?
One year out from one of the best NC runs of all time- a run mind you that no one saw coming and we are dead in the water all of a sudden?
In a year or two we will have a new coach and a new PF and we will be rebuilding one way or another. Arizona did it, Uk did it and we are going to do it as well. Be happy. We have had a great run and our team next year is not going to suck- I am guessing they will be better then this past season.
Some UCONN fans are so spoiled it makes me want to puke.

PE-TOOWEY!!!!!!! I spit on you.

i was echoing the sentiments of alot of fans and uconn detractors. me personally i was very disappointed with how the season turned out but i feel the program will get back to its championship level in a couple of years. the only point i was making was that uk had the season we all envisioned us having. you might want to lay off the caffiene.
