I averaged the rankings for the teams within each conference.
(Hopefully there's not some statistical property of KenPom that makes averaging the ratings inappropriate.)

Simple Average
  1. SEC 21.2
  2. BiG 17.5
  3. B12 17.4
  4. BgE 13.6
  5. PAC 11.1 <-- if it were a conference now*
  6. ACC 10.5
  7. MWC 6.2
  8. WCC 4.9
  9. A10 4.5
  10. AAC 1.9
  11. CUSA 1.8
  12. MVC 0.6

Weighted Average (using a normal-type distribution, eg 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1)
  1. SEC 20.8
  2. BiG 17.6
  3. B12 16.8
  4. BgE 13.8
  5. PAC 11.8
  6. ACC 9.8
  7. MWC 7.3
  8. WCC 5.3
* PAC assumed membership of OSU, WSU, 5 MW, Gonz, TexasSt

So, on a disappointing day, at least nice to see the ACC behind the new PAC

I don't think there's anything that makes it bad to average it, but he has an actual conference rankings algorithm for how strong a team would need to be to go .500 in a league that is probably better than a straight average. Actually looks a good amount like your weighted average:

Ranking of conferences by NetRtg of team expected to go .500 in conference play

Ah ok didn’t see that.
Yes very close to the weighted average, which did not include yesterday’s results.

Point being the the ACC is on the verge of falling to 6th once the PAC starts.
