I'm not liking his death, I'm liking your report of his passing. This is the first I've herd of it. Thanks.
RIP Ken Osmond. :(
He led a remarkable life.

"Osmond joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1970 and grew a mustache to be less recognizable. In 1980, Osmond was struck by five bullets while in a foot chase with a suspected car thief and was protected from four of the bullets by his bullet-resistant vest, with the fifth bullet ricocheting off of his belt buckle. He was placed on disability and retired from the force in 1988. "

A perfect portrayal of acceptable obnoxious. . . He was great. Interesting life career. He seemed like a talented young actor. RIP

he probably got typecast .....everyone always saw him as Eddie Haskell

No "probably" to it! He did. Just as George Reeves got type cast as TV's Superman, an actor’s worst fear.

A classically trained actor who already had some impressive credits to his name, including the 1939 classic Gone With the Wind, Reeves was reluctant to take on the role because in television’s early days, it was considered to be a rather undignified medium that was far inferior to film. Reeves worried he would be typecast as a children’s actor. His fears were not unfounded, as he had been out of work for two years by the time of his death in 1959.

Eddie was the "hanger-oner". The kid who would hand you the firecracker and dare you to light it and throw it and then when caught would snitch on you, Wonderfully played by Ken Osmond, So well played that, as Checkmate described it, he was typecast for the remainder of his career. I didn't know about his law enforcement career. Thank you for that Aluminny.

Carnac, I believe that Reeves committed suicide. I think he wound up doing some type of "Hercules" type of movies.
George Reeves story was fictionalized in the excellent Movie, HOLLYWOODLAND, starring Ben Affleck as George Reeves. Officially, the movie was labeled, "based on a true story."
