Schuey! It's a longshot, but keep working hard. Someone has to replace Misty.

Go Shueeeee! The NCAA Championship blocking machine!! Hate to look up and find her hanging over the net with a hand about to make contact with that ball.

I thought that she was Canadian.

I never thought of her as one of the UConn greats. In fact, my memory of Schumaker was that she was an underperformer for her size. She wasn't a scorer, or a rebounder. I don't even remember her as a starter for most of her time at UConn. She was a good shot blocker, but not a great one in the same class as Lobo or Charles.

I believe that is incorrect. She was born in Ohio and raised for much of her life in Canada but I do not believe she ever received Canadian Citizenship.

Tough crowd. I saw her as a player that stepped up her game in the big spots and earned the rings to show for it.

Geez people, what the heck. This thread has been up for over 12 hours. 395+ views and STILL, nobody has posted a picture of Kelly Schumacher the volleyball player? We're talking beach volleyball here. Beaches, bikini's? Hello, McFly?

Fine, fine, I'll do it.

Didn't she play on the Canadian Basketball team at one point? I see a listing that she played that in 1997 and 1998 she played for the CCAA.

Is that the best you can do? I mean, really. Just give the link to Kelly's own site with not only the beach VB but also the fashion pics too.

Kelly was not a dual citizen although she was often identified as a Canadian basketball player, especially by CT writers. She said she would have played for Canada if she had been a Canadian citizen. She led John Abbot College to two national championships before heading on to UConn for four years and a third NC combined. Is 5th on UConn list in both blocks and blocks per game, led the Huskies for three years in a row, and is a co-owner of the single game record with Rebecca and Tina, so she was certainly a pretty fair blocker though not in Lobo and Wolters' league, though they also had a lot more minutes to beef up the stats. Is second all-time on the Fever's career blocks record and as she says in her bio about her 8 years in the WNBA she is the only player to be part of champion teams from both the East and West conferences. Way to go Schuey!

Started doing beach VB back in 2005 though didn't actually go into it much until 2010, and she got a bronze medal for the US team in the NORCECA tournament. Neither regular court or beach VB are easy roads at this point for any American player because of the intense competition.

Didn't want to come off as too much of a perv hunting down bikini shots.

Figured this one wasn't too bad, looked like an ad.

Not an all-time great by any means, but authored a legendary performance during the 2000 NC game and limited Ruth Riley significantly in the second half of the Bird at the Buzzer game in 2001.

She was good enough to be a wnba first rounder.

I always suspected you to be a birther. I want to see her passport.

Male bear, not a birther.

Hey wait, that's like saying members of a certain political party can't be birthers. One can wear more than one coat of fur at the same time. Bad analogy. How about, male bears don't recognize national borders when it comes to female bears wearing bikinis.

Bears always only wear one coat and female bears never wear bikinis.
