Folks,

Many Husky fans across Connecticut have fallen back under their rock. We as fans need to support through thick and thin. If you wanna complain about not being P5 then show up to football games. Connecticut fans suck! Michigan was the last sell-out, every other games has looked like high school football. Look at Cincy fans, they sold out for our sorry team. Those are fans making an effort, we are not. Now grab a UConn sweatshirt and tickets to the ECU game, and cheer like crazy. If you are not willing to do this but are willing to complain about our conference, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!

GO HUSKIES!!

Keeping the faith with this program is now more of an art rather than a science! It has become extremely difficult......

1. You're preaching to the choir on this forum.

2. Cincy fans sold out for THEIR team, not ours, and they have every motivation to. They've been consistently good since joining the Big East.

3. There have been some games the last couple years that would be comparable to high school crowds (SMU last year), but we've gotten in the area of 30k for our games this year.

Face it - the casuals won't return until this team finally starts winning.

I think that we are going to be hard pressed to hit 30k again after the last 2 performances. I will be heading to New Orleans the first week of November. I am just glad that my hotel stay did not cost me a penny (thank you Marriott rewards) and my flight was free as well. I am afraid to say that this might be the last opportunity to watch UCONN get a win in person. I hope that I am wrong though.

Cincy & most other teams fans would react the same way as UConn fans given our football team the past 4 years.

The big question, now, is how much time the current coaching staff will get, if the team keeps going the way it's been going.

With our interm coach, 2 years ago, we finished the season beating Temple & Memphis, both now nationally ranked. Plus gave Rutgers a fond farewell before heading to the B1G. I know we lost Casey early, but, considering how we finished that season, I do believe we should have done much better than 2-10. This year we have 3 wins. Will we get to 4-5 wins. If so, my guess is Diaco deserves another year. If we finish 3-9 I do believe Warde needs to make a very difficult decision. Diaco is Warde's guy. But, I believe a tough decision needs to be made.

Diaco gets 4-5 years (total) in my opinion, unless he goes without a win next year.

This is the last season Diaco gets to underperform. No bowl game next year and he's gone. Rightfully so, based on his performance.

Well Cincy was 3-3 yesterday just like us. Don't support the team fine, just don't whine come conference realignment.

Translation- I am really the one complaining about our conference and think if we magically pack the house (impossible to do with the product on the field) we will be in the Big 10.

Dude. You will find that most of the posters on the football board 1) have season tickets, 2) go to most/all games, 3) were in the stands for last year's SMU game. You won't find any more diehard group of fans than right here.

If I were you, I'd spread this message to the other boards. Just a bit of advice: you won't get much of a response. Our fanbase is somewhat fragmented.

I am season ticket holder that goes to most games also, but can you understand my frustration towards crowds at the Rent

I can't. The product sucks right now. It's a tough watch. You can't expect the casual fan to sit through this. We have a diehard base of about 10k that will show up almost always.

I definitely understand the frustration! I'm frustrated too. I'm just saying that preaching to the diehard fans won't help...we are ALL frustrated. I've done it in the past and have learned my lesson (repeatedly). We need to figure out how to get casual fans back to the Rent (you'll find most casual fans on the hoops/other boards). But, the casual fans won't go to games until the team starts winning. That's why they are "casual" fans.

We aren't going to get casual fans back to P@W stadium until we start to score points. It is the hopelessness of hoping we stop them on Defense so we can win the game because if we fall behind early we are toast.

Yeah, we're averaging 30K after a 3-win season and a 2-win season playing against opponents that most of us couldn't care less about. When the team starts winning again, the casual fans will come back and the Rent will be sold out again. Then we can go back to complaining about the stuff that we used to: fans leaving early, coming late, student section, etc. :)

They have beat a legitimate FBS outfit one time in 20 games. The attendence is off the charts all things considered.

The Rutgers fans didn't stick around long last night. It is not a religion around these parts. If we get 3o,000 Friday it will be surprising.
