After two seasons under Katie Smith, during which the New York Liberty compiled a 17-51 record, Smith’s contract will not be renewed for 2020.

Nothing against Katie Smith but I did wonder why, as the season came to a close, Kia Nurse and Marine Johannes were sometimes seen riding the bench in the closing minutes of a close game while the guards on the floor insisted on turning the ball over.
